Tammi Avallone is a lifelong dog-lover and the Managing Editor of FiveBarks.com.
Tammi grew up in the countryside on her parents’ farm where animals, including dogs, always surrounded her. Tammi’s first love was a beautiful chocolate Labrador Retriever named Toby. Since then, Tammi has always had dogs in her life, including a crazy Australian Shepherd and several Labs of different colors. More recently, Tammi fell in love with the Poodle crossbreeds that are now so popular, and she is the proud owner of a gorgeous Mini Goldendoodle called Tess and an 8 year old Shorkie named Winston.

Alison is now a full-time writer, specializing in creating articles on the care and training of dogs, cats, and fish. And, although she no longer rides horses competitively, Alison is also a professional dressage judge.

Wanda C
Volunteer with the Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition (BARC)
Wanda has LOVED dogs ever since she was a child, and is currently a dog parent to a 3-year-old poodle who means the world to her. She was a volunteer with the Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition (BARC), a no-kill shelter based in Brooklyn, New York. Spending time with dogs from different backgrounds taught her how to bring out the best in each dog by fostering a genuine connection, which in turn allows them to find fur-ever homes with loving families.
In her spare time, Wanda enjoys teaching her dog new tricks, doing yoga, and sometimes, combining the two. Someday, she hopes to do a downward dog together with her pup! She also enjoys exploring the city with her dog in tow, checking out pet-friendly travel spots, and introducing her dog to other animals.
Ultimately, Wanda’s goal as a FiveBarks contributor is to help fellow dog owners bond with their dogs on a deeper level. With the right tips and tricks, she believes that anyone can foster a strong, loving bond with their pets that will last for years to come!
