What is My Personal Experience with Adopting a Mini Goldendoodle?

The first thing to know is that you must start potty training your furbaby from the minute you get him home. Don’t give him the benefit of the doubt and ignore accidents, hoping to fix the problem “tomorrow” because, as you know, tomorrow never comes!

When we arrived home with our new puppy, the first thing we did was take him straight out into the garden. I’m lucky because I have a large backyard area with plenty of grass, and that’s ideal for potty training.

As soon as the little guy relieved himself, I made a big fuss of him, and then we went indoors.

Mark The Spot!

Dogs have an extremely keen sense of smell that’s much better than ours, and they use scent as markers. So, I didn’t clean up the first poop my puppy produced. “What?!” I  hear you cry in horror. But wait, there’s a reason why I did that.

By observing my pup closely, I learned to recognize his “I need to go” body language. That enabled me to grab the puppy and take him outside before accidents happened.

Gradually, Raffles learned where his poop place was, and he quickly gravitated to the spot where the first potty stop was. After a couple of weeks, the accidents became less frequent, and by week four, little Raffles was pretty much potty trained!

In Conclusion

Finding the ideal Mini Goldendoodle in Iowa is within your reach! Remember the key takeaways from this article: prioritize reputable breeders who focus on health and temperament, and always visit the puppies in person. Mini Goldendoodles are amazing companions, so be prepared for their energy and love when you bring one home.
