Golden Honey Kennel in Georgia began breeding high-quality Goldendoodles in 2015.  Since then, the operation has gone from strength to strength, and this ethical breeder is now a Blue Ribbon breeder registered with the Goldendoodle Association of North America (GANA).

As a well-regarded professional dog breeder, Golden Honey Kennel is very keen that every puppy they produce goes to the perfect forever home. So, there’s a thorough vetting process that all potential owners go through before being put on the breeder’s waitlist.

This is a relatively small breeding operation, producing only a few litters of puppies every year. To reserve your puppy, you pay a non-refundable deposit of $500.

Every puppy is sent to its new home, having received its first vaccinations. Also, the pups are dewormed, microchipped, and come with a two-year health warranty, a health certificate, pedigree papers, and registration documents. As an added bonus, you’ll receive a puppy pack to get you started.

I Want A Doodle

Breeder Details:

Location: Woodstock, GA (30 minutes North of Atlanta, Georgia)

Telephone: 404.645.4522

Email: sunshinespuppies@alison-page

Goldendoodle puppy information:

  • Generation: Multigen
  • Size: Medium

I Want A Doodle began as a small, family breeding operation in 2012 and remains so to this day. Because of that, puppies are used to being handled by children and are also exposed to other family pets. As the operation is so small, the breeder doesn’t use a guardian program.

This dedicated hobby breeder of health-tested puppies only has two female breeding dogs onsite, using a male stud service from another reputable Doodle breeder in the state. All the breeding dogs are extensively health-screened to ensure that the puppies are healthy and free from genetic defects.

Although the website doesn’t list the price of the puppies, a non-refundable deposit of $300 is requested to reserve a puppy. Contact the breeder directly to find out more about pricing, availability, etc.

Most Goldendoodle breeders have a long waitlist, and you don’t often get to pick your puppy. However, PuppySpot is an online breeders’ website that enables you to choose a puppy by gender, coat color, size, gender, age, and other features. That makes it easy to find a puppy without having to wait over six months to find one.

Most buyers report enjoying a very positive experience when using PuppySpot. This network of breeders is reviewed, registered, licensed, and thoroughly vetted before they advertise a puppy through this site. The whole process is endorsed and supported by the American Kennel Club (AKC), meaning you can be confident that you’re not buying from a puppy mill.

Dallas Doodles

Breeder Details:

Location: Dallas, GA (around one hour North of Atlanta, Georgia)

Telephone: N/A

Email: Contact the breeder through the website

Goldendoodle puppy information:

  • Generation: Multigen
  • Size: Mini, Medium

Dallas Doodles is a pretty new puppy breeder, only having been set up in 2018. This is a very small family operation that started with the breeder’s two pet dogs.

All the parent dogs used for breeding are rigorously tested and health-screened for genetic health problems that might otherwise be passed down to their litters. That way, you know that you’re buying a very healthy puppy.

The care that goes into breeding, raising, and socializing these puppies is reflected in their price. You’re required to pay a non-refundable $350 deposit that’s deducted from the $2,950 price of the puppy. All puppies are the same price, regardless of gender, breed, and color.

Southern Coast Goldendoodles

Breeder Details:

Location: Sugarhill, GA (1 hour northeast of Atlanta, Georgia)

Telephone: 678.428.0177

Email: englishteddybeardoodles

Goldendoodle puppy information:

  • Generation: Multigen
  • Size: Medium, standard

This breeder only produces English Teddy Bear Goldendoodles, specializing in breeding companion dogs.

Unlike many other breeding operations, lifetime breeders, Southern Coast Goldendoodles don’t have traditional kennels, preferring to use carefully vetted guardian homes. Every dog is screened for genetic health conditions and is vet-checked to make sure it is in excellent health before being used for breeding.

To get on the waitlist, you need to complete an application and leave a $500 non-refundable deposit. Puppies from this breeder cost $2,700. Unfortunately, you can’t choose your puppy. Instead, the puppies are allocated in the order that reservations are taken when the puppies are six weeks old.

To protect the health of the puppies, visits are not generally welcomed until the pups are over six and a half weeks old. By that stage, every puppy has been vaccinated and dewormed.

Heaven On Earth Doodles

Breeder Details:

Location: Canton, GA

Telephone: 614.296.1773

Email: heavenonearthgoldendoodles

Goldendoodle puppy information:

  • Generation: Multigen
  • Size: Mini, medium, standard

Heaven On Earth Goldendoodles is a Blue Ribbon member of GANA.

Six of the breeder’s stud dogs live at home with them as pets, with the remainder being housed in guardian homes across the state. Once the dogs’ breeding career is over, they retire to live with their guardians. The dogs that live with the breeder spend time in the family home and are free to roam freely across the breeder’s two-acre property. There’s also a brand-new puppy barn where the puppies learn to play with their siblings.

All the puppies are socialized and played with on a daily basis, so they’re all happy and well-adjusted. Early neural stimulation is also practiced so that the puppies have the very best start in life. This supportive breeder is always there to give advice to new owners, too.

To apply for a puppy, put your name down on the waitlist and pay a $300 deposit. Puppies are priced from $3,200 to $3,500, depending on the approximate size of the Doodle at adulthood.

Sweet Haven Kennels produces high-quality Goldendoodle, Poodle, and Golden Retriever puppies for sale.

You can choose trained puppies with three levels of training to choose from. Some of the puppies are companion dogs; others go to work as service, therapy, or emotional support dogs, too.

The breeder offers a flight nanny delivery service to every major US airport. Puppies are flown in-cabin with a special nanny so that the little travelers are happy and well-cared for all the way to their new home. Alternatively, you can collect your new puppy from the kennels if you live locally.

Every puppy is health-checked, microchipped, comes with a health guarantee, and has had its first vaccinations. The breeder also offers lifetime support to everyone who adopts a puppy. Puppies are priced between $1,800 and $3,800, depending on the size, coat pattern, and color of the puppy.

The breeder requests that all puppies are spayed or neutered once they are old enough unless breeding rights are agreed upon and paid for.

How Much Is A Goldendoodle In Georgia?

In Georgia, Goldendoodle prices range from around $1,800 to $3,800. That’s a lot of money to spend on a dog, even if the puppy is a gorgeous, fluffy bundle of joy. So, why are these dogs so expensive when compared to other breeds?

The price of a Goldendoodle from a breeder in Georgia depends on several things, including:

  • The predicted size of the adult dog
  • The color of the dog
  • The predicted coat type of the adult dog
  • The generation, ie, F1, F2, F2B, etc
  • Whether the adult Doodle is likely to be hypoallergenic

Generally, curly-coated dogs shed less and are considered to be more hypoallergenic than straight-coated animals. That makes these types of Doodles more desirable and, consequently, more expensive.

Sometimes, if the puppies are bred from prize-winning parents, the price will be higher. Prices also vary depending on where you are in the country, the size of the breeder’s operation, and their reputation.

How Long Does It Take To Get A Goldendoodle Puppy?

Well, the answer to that question is a little like the answer to “How long is a piece of string?”

At the time of writing, the demand for Goldendoodles is huge! Consequently, all Goldendoodle breeders have waitlists for their puppies, and the best breeders’ waitlists are long.

Initially, you’ll need to go through a vetting process and complete a formal application before you can be considered for a puppy. Then, you’ll be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit to secure your puppy. Depending on the size of the breeder’s operation and your specific requirements regarding the sex, color, and generation of the Doodle puppy you want, your waiting time could be anything from six months to over a year.

There will be cases when breeders in your state don’t have available puppies on hand. If you are in a hurry to own a Goldendoodle puppy, you may try to find other breeders from outside Georgia. Fortunately, we have lists of top breeders from other nearby states, too. Check out these lists in the following posts:

What Is The Best Age To Get A Goldendoodle?

A cute little Goldendoodle puppy laying on a black background.

If you want the fun challenge of raising a Goldendoodle puppy, you can expect the pup to be a minimum of at least eight weeks old before you’re allowed to take it home.

Some breeders prefer to keep their puppies until they’re a little older than that so that the pups can be socialized and partly potty trained before they leave for their new forever homes. That can add quite a few weeks to the time of puppy pick-up.

If you would rather avoid the puppy stage and not have tons of time to wait, but you’re still keen to welcome a Goldendoodle into your life, why not consider adopting an adult dog from a shelter or rescue? Also, some breeders offer their retired stud dogs as pets once the dog’s breeding career is over.

Are You Ready For A Puppy In Your Life?

It’s so easy to fall in love with a cute puppy, and before you know what’s happened, you’ve brought him home! But that’s where your life changes forever … in a big way, as I discovered recently. So, before you dash off to find your perfect puppy, I’d like to share my personal experience with you.

I’ve owned dogs since I was a child, which is quite some years ago now! I don’t remember much about those childhood canine companions during puppyhood, probably since my parents did most of the training and cleaning up.

The dogs I’ve had since I left home came from rescues and were already grown. So, although there was some training to be done, the teething phase was over, and both my furry friends were partly potty trained when I got them.

For some time, my OH has yearned for a dog; a puppy, to be precise. For months, I said “no” until I finally caved in for the sake of domestic bliss. A few weeks later, the perfect puppy was located (through a breeder I know) and arrived home.

Puppy Chaos!

Now, the little guy is undoubtedly the cutest thing on four legs you ever saw. But life is no longer the peaceful, harmonious experience it once was!

The puppy is teething and chews everything he can lay his gnashers on, including my carefully tended pansies, which are now headless. OH now has several pairs of socks with added ventilation holes in the toes and a pair of underpants that are no longer decent!

Puppy has a foot fetish. I can’t take a step without the little blighter grabbing my slippers or shoelaces, depending on where I’m trying to go at the time. I’ve fallen over him countless times, fortunately, thus far, without injury.

Although the puppy doesn’t shed, the vacuum cleaner has never seen so much action. You wouldn’t believe how much mess something so small could make!

Of course, our spontaneous nights out and weekends away no longer happen. Even organizing a trip to the coffee shop is like a military operation!

And the family cats are both traumatized if a little fitter from the increased exercise they now get every time the puppy chases them down the garden.

Training Trauma

Potty training is going pretty well. Of course, if it’s raining and dark, the puppy refuses to go out without me escorting him. Getting up at 3 am and carrying a wriggling fluffy bundle out to the garden while huddled in my dressing gown, waterproof hat, and wellies is a new experience.

The beautifully appointed crate we bought has now been abandoned, and the puppy spends the day lying on my feet while I’m working, playing with an extremely loud squeaky toy. Of course, the puppy now spends most of the night sleeping on our bed, which at least makes potty training easier.

So, four weeks into puppy ownership, I’m bruised, battered, exhausted, and I’ve never said the word “No!” so many times in one day!

But …

All that said, Raffles is becoming more obedient every day, is 99% potty trained, and we’re now into a nice daily routine.

The bottom line: If you think owning a puppy is easy, I can tell you it is not. But I can also tell you that puppy ownership is fun and rewarding, and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

In Conclusion

Reputable breeders always have their stud dogs health-screened to rule out any hereditary health conditions that might be passed on to the puppies. Most breeders have the puppies vaccinated, microchipped, and vet-checked before you take your new furbaby home. Also, some breeders start the pup’s basic training and socialization too.

  1. Awesome Website!! Looking to become a Doodle Mom again after 5 years. My Noodles was an F2 Labradoodle, whom I adopted in 2004 at 4 months old from the Dumb Friends League in Aurora, CO, where I attend Paralegal School. Noodles returned home here in Georgia, and lived until she was 13 years old; Where we finally had to contact the Atlanta Pet Hospice here in Georgia…(who are one of the most gentle, understanding & pleasant services I’ve ever encountered), their awesome mobile Vet is the greatest! Who came into our home and peacefully laid Noodles to rest for us, after her battle with painful tumors.

We are having a new single story home built as retirees, and I plan to utilize your website for the purchase & adoption of our next fur child Doodle!!

Thanks much for your website resources, and I will keep you updated on our progress!
